PS3 hopefuls shot with BB's at Kentucky Best Buy

"If you thought shacking up outside of a Best Buy in near-freezing temperatures (say, Ann Arbor, Michigan) for nearly two weeks is hardcore, imagine how folks waiting in Lexington, Kentucky felt when a drive-by shooter let the pellets fly into a group of PS3 hopefuls. Apparently bitter and distraught from not getting their name on a (shaky) pre-order list, enraged suspects drove by a Best Buy on Nicholasville Road and "injured four people with BB pellets," including a news reporter who was conducting an interview with one of the campers. Although none of the folks were seriously injured, we can't help but wonder who pulls off a drive-by shooting with cameras rolling." - engadget.com

Leo Burnett's rain-sensitive cosmetic billboard

"Advertising agencies are trying everything from window shopping to fiber-optic cement walls to LEDs outlining a building in order to catch the ever-wandering eye of the consumer. The Leo Burnett agency, a graphical genius of sorts, has its latest breakthrough concept plastered on a Max Factor cosmetic billboard. The pictured woman sports finely groomed eyelashes when kept dry, but rainy weather creates black runs akin to real life scenarios to presumably suggest that ladies should make haste in picking up the run-resistant flavor of makeup. So if you're trying to focus on important things like pedestrians and oncoming traffic while cruising through a torrential downpour, just make sure to not point and stare too awfully long." - engadget.com

I love this kind of marketing. Such a cool use of technology.

Hot peppers and spider bites cause similar pain

"New research suggests that tarantula venom and capsaicin, the stuff that makes hot peppers hot, both fire up the same pain receptor on nerve cells. The particular cell-surface receptor is triggered by chemicals and also temperature. The research, conducted at the University of California, San Francisco, and published in the scientific journal Nature, could someday inform the development of better pain killers." - boingboing.com

Air Guitar Shirt

This guy created a shirt with sensors in the elbows that can detect your movment and play guitar chords. That's right it's an air guitar shirt. Follow the link for a video demonstration. Points for creativeness but dude... work on your rhythm skills. For what it's worth I could've taught him those power chords a lot faster than it probably took to make this thing.

World's Largest Skateboard Ramp

Video of Bob Burnquist's home skateboarding ramp. Just amazing... they disabled embeding on this video so you have to follow the link.
