World’s Largest Treehouse

In 2005, the world’s largest all-wood treehouse was built amongst the lime trees of the non-profit Alnwick Garden in Northumberland County, UK. This 6,000 square foot treehouse is comprised of walkways, cottages, shops, a restaurant, and play areas. It is even wheelchair accessible, and holds close to 1,000 people, so everyone can play. - saynotocrack.com

iClip 4

Yesterday I posted some great little Mac apps but I forgot about one...

There are quite a few clipboard managers for OS X but my favorite has been iClip. iClip let's you keep multiple files from our clipboard in a very cool visual style that makes finding what you need fast. The visual presentation of the files is what makes it faster and easier to use than other managers that only give you a file name. If you work with any kind of html coding or even use blogging software iClip is a godsend. Being able to store links and html code for fast and easy access makes for quick work when doing repetative tasks. And with most Mac apps iClip is pretty to look at. You should also check out their free dashboard widget iClip lite... it's awesome. If spending $29 bucks for iClip seems a little too much... try the widget and see how it changes your workflow. After using it a while you'll see why it's worth every penny. Find more about iClip at http://inventive.us.

PaperBackSwap

Just wanted to tell you guys about a site me and my dad have been using. It's called PaperBackSwap.com. It's the same concept as LaLa (online cd traiding) and Peerflix (online dvd traiding). The idea is you post paperback books you own and then you trade them for other peoples books. The only cost to you is shipping for the books you send out. And by the way if your not using LaLa your missing out.

First DMCA takedown notice

Wow I just got my first DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown notice from Youtube about that Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs video I posted here a week ago or so. I also notice it has 1857 views... Holy Cow!!! It was up for a little more than a week! No wonder they noticed it huh...

New Mac Apps

Just thought I would share some of the cool mac apps I have found lately.

First off is a great bittorrent client called Xtorrent. If you are into the bittorrent scene this is the best of the best. It looks great and is gaining features every week. Really slick app. It's currently in beta and is free to use. You can pre-buy a license for like $19. I went ahead and got one.

Also wanna download Inquisitor while your at the same site as Xtorrent. This is a great search plug-in for Safari. I couldn't live without it now.

Next is SerialSticker. If your like me and you find yourself purchasing apps often you know it's hard to keep up with all the emails containing serials and registration info. This free little app is a great way to keep all of your registration info in one place.

Next up is another free app called AppFresh. AppFresh is a great way to keep your apps up-to-date. It goes through and looks for updates for your apps and gives you the choice to update them.

Lastley there is Dockart. This is a little plugin for iTunes. All it does is turns the iTunes icon in your dock into the artwork for the current album playing. Why would you want this... I don't know I just like it.

Well that's it for now. Hope you dig them as much as I do. It is these type of applications that make me love being a Mac user.

RIAA Wins Worst Company In America 2007

The RIAA won The Consumerist's "Worst Company In America 2007" reader poll. We predicted an RIAA landlslide, but they only managed a 53.8% majority over Halliburton's 46.2%. The message is clear. The internet cares deeply about being able to download music illegally.

Congrats to you, oh RIAA! — BEN POPKEN

Mass Effect - GDC 07 Skill Tree Interview

I've been watching this game for a while now. If you played either of the Knights of the Old Republic games on Xbox you know these guys have a good idea what they are trying to achieve. That Jedi looking lift thing at the end looks awesome.

Inebriated crooks leave behind digital snapshots of themselves

It's one thing to lose track of all the peripherals you need to gank whilst stealing a gaming console, but to leave behind digital snapshots of yourself at a crime scene is on an entirely different level of dumb. In a case filled with Darwin award nominees, a team of self-incriminating thieves managed to break into private property and jack about "$5,000 worth of expensive alcohol, including $800 bottles of wine and high-dollar scotch," only to forget a digital camera filled with photos of the party in progress. - engadget.com
