Best Buy Confirms It Has Secret Website

Under pressure from state investigators, Best Buy is now confirming my reporting that its stores have a secret intranet site that has been used to block some consumers from getting cheaper prices advertised on BestBuy.com.

"Although we have an intra-store web site in place to support store operations (including products and pricing), we are reminding our employees how to access the external BestBuy.com web site to ensure customers are receiving the best possible product price."

That last sentence seems to indicate that Best Buy, which is supposed to be staffed by tech-savvy employees, is putting the blame on memory lapses: that employees have somehow forgotten how to access BestBuy.com from the store. - courant.com

I told you this was a scam... and then they tried to say it was because their staff was too stupid to know the difference. What punks... Though I'm sure this won't stop me from buying things from Best Buy I will be continuing my new trend of always trying to buy from Amazon.

9000x9000 Overhead picture of WTC

A extremely high resolution top side view of the World Trade Center after 9/11. That really puts things into perspective. Click the picture to go to the site and see it up close.

Canon Blink Shot Cameras

There's one in every picture. Some fool who ruins your shot by closing their eyes just as you hit the shutter button. Well, Canon's looking to make that a thing of the past with their new Blink Shot technology, which won't let you take a picture if your subject's eyes are closed. I normally look half asleep in my photos, so this might be worth checking out, though I don't see it being anything more than a gimmicky feature for point and shoots. No word yet on when we'll see the feature in cameras. – Louis Ramirez

Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs

I just saw this on CMT the other night on a show called Crossroads. It was a whole concert featuring Bruce Hornsby and Ricky Skaggs. It was pretty awesome. They are releasing an album together that should be great.

Adobe to bring Photoshop online

Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen said Tuesday that the company intends to release a Web hosted version of it's Photoshop image editing application within six months. Chizen said Adobe broke ground for a hosted Photoshop product with Adobe Remix -- a Web-based video editing tool that the company offers through the PhotoBucket media sharing site, according to News.com. Adobe apparently intends the new Web-based Photoshop variant to compete with Google's Picasa application, and the online photoshop service is part of a larger movement to introduce ad-supported online services that complement the company's existing products, broadening its reach into the consumer market. Like Adobe Remix, the new online photoshop service will be available for free as an entry-level version. - macnn.com

Speaking as someone who uses Photoshop all the time I think this could be cool. There's hardly a day that goes by when I don't have to lauch Photoshop for something and the idea that I could have limited functionality anywhere there is a internet conection would be very handy. Like say if your with a client and they want one small change in a design you just launch a web browser make the change right there on their system. Kinda cool huh...

2,000+ person pillow fight in NYC

Over 2,000 people got together in NYC to have a massive pillow fight. Thankfully the good people over at Rocketboom thought to film it. Now that would be fun. Click on the picture or the link to check it out.
